Barch: Barbarians + Archers
Exact composition varies, but generally around 40-60% Barbarians and 40-60% Archers. Including Goblins (Garch), Giants, Hog Riders, or Wall Breakers can help strengthen your army, but about 80-90% of your army composition will be Barbarians and Archers.
This is a popular choice for farming loot because of its cheap cost, short training time and ease of use. Since gold mines, elixir collectors and dark elixir drills are mostly commonly placed on the outside of walls (sometimes even clumped together), those who are inactive for a significant amount of time will accumulate loot in these buildings. When 50% of the stored loot can be raided, compared to the 10-20% from storages, there can be more loot available from uncollected resource producing buildings than full storages. Barch takes advantage of these points by giving you the most firepower over the largest area of the map.
While Barch gives you one of the highest DPS of any army composition, each individual troop is relatively weak and easily killed. Worse is that they will often bunch together into small-radius clusters, making them susceptible to splash damage (Mortars and Wizard Towers) when in range. This makes 2-3 star attacks fairly difficult, and often a 1 star is just out of reach, leading to a drop in trophies from the resulting loss. To minimize losses, players can take advantage of "farming bases", where the Town Hall is located outside of the walls and out of reach from other defenses, so that they can maintain their trophy count while farming with this strategy. However, Barch is also an excellent way to trophy push, given that getting 50% on a farming base is more likely than not, making this a simple 2 star strategy.
Barch gives an advantage over a full army composition of only Archers because of the added bulk that Barbarians give. A Mortar of level N will one shot any Archer of level N or lower, while a Barbarian of level N can withstand up to 3 hits before going down. Likewise, a N-level Wizard Tower needs 2 shots to KO an N-level Archer, and 3-4 for a N-level Barbarian. Additionally, the Barbarian is a cheaper troop than the Archer, so adding Barbarians to the mix not only provides the bulk advantage described earlier, but also serves to keep army cost down.
